Crystal City Creations are created in Waterford, Ireland, the home of the most famous crystal factory in the world. John Lynagh was employed at Waterford Crystal as a master blower for many years. That’s where he learned how to pay attention to detail and quality. He is now a self-employed glass artist and dedicates himself to quality and excellence in jewellery collections and one-of-a-kind creations. Every item is handmade by John in his glass studio.
John mostly uses Italian Moretti glass, also Vetrofond, Reichenbach, Lauscha, CIM, and TAG, all COE 104. He also uses Double Helix reactive silver glass CEO 104 from Murano and sometimes make items of jewellery from Borosilicate (Pyrex) COE 33.
All John’s lampwork glass pieces are unique – no two pieces are exactly the same. All his glass jewellery is created using an oxy propane torch to heat the glass rods until molten, then he uses his skill and imagination to create the specific shapes required. All John’s jewellery is annealed in a digitally controlled Paragon kiln for extra toughness and carefully packaged for safe delivery.
